American Heartworm Society – Its aim is to lead the veterinary profession and public in the understanding of heartworm disease, a serious and potentially fatal condition caused by parasitic worms living in the arteries of the lungs and occasionally in the right side of the heart of dogs, cats and other species of mammals, and (in rare instances) humans.
CAPC – (Companion Animal Parasite Council) – an independent, non-profit organization dedicated to increasing awareness of the threat parasites present to pets and family members.
Michelson Found Animals - Dr. Gary Michaelson started Found Animals in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, establishing the first free pet microchip registry to help every lost pet find their way home. The organization has continued to identify important problems facing pets and people, and develop real-world, scalable solutions to help them thrive.
