URGENT!

At the beginning of June 2025, a tree fell on the Haven where we house our rescue dogs. The Haven has been damaged beyond repair and demolition is being planned. As such, we need to have everything, along with our rescue dogs, removed by August 9th or 10th.

Debbie, Carter and Roscoe are currently being housed in the Haven. Izzy is being housed at the animal hospital, along with Akuna. Izzy and Akuna take up most of the room at the animal hospital, so fitting more dogs will be very difficult. We desperately need to have our rescue dogs find their perfect homes. We have a lot invested in our rescues and would rather they not have to stay in cramped quarters.

If you cannot adopt or foster Izzy, PLEASE share her bio.

Bio:

Izzy a sweet and loving 10-year-old German Shepherd who is ready to find her forever home! Despite her age and condition, Izzy is full of affection and enjoys spending time with her people, whether it is cuddling on the couch or going on gentle walks. She has EPI (Exocrine Pancreatic Insufficiency), which requires her to be on a special diet, but that does not stop her from being a calm and loyal companion. Izzy is dog-selective, so she would do best as the only dog in the home, but she has lived with cats before—though she can be very interested in them at first. She is looking for a home where she can relax and share her loving nature with you!

If you are interested in adopting Izzy (or one of our other rescues), reach out to us at info@colbertvetrescue.org. If you would like to donate towards his extensive medical bills, our Venmo is @colbert-vetrescue.
